Nature of the site
CathCal is a free devotional and educational resource presenting the liturgical calendars of the Extraordinary Form (Missale Romanum, 1962) and the Ordinary Form. It is not an official publication of the Catholic Church, of any diocese, or of any religious institute.
Sources and intellectual property
The site's texts draw on public-domain and freely licensed sources, credited on the About page, including the Douay-Rheims Bible, the Divinum Officium Project (used under the MIT License), the Catholic Encyclopedia (1913), the original Lives of the Saints of Alban Butler, the 1916 English Roman Martyrology, the 1910 English Raccolta, and the works of Dom Prosper Gueranger and Dom Matthew Britt. The site's own selection, arrangement, design, and original summaries belong to the operator. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial devotion and study. Republication of the site's presentation, or systematic scraping of its content, requires written permission.
Accuracy
Calendar computations and texts are offered in good faith and believed correct; discrepancies should be reported through the contact form. CathCal is not a substitute for approved liturgical books. Confirm Mass times and obligations with your parish. Notes on fasting and abstinence describe the traditional voluntary discipline, not the current universal law; consult your pastor or confessor.
