CathCal is a free devotional website. It has no user accounts, and it collects as little as possible.
Information this site does not collect
CathCal holds no registration data, because there is no registration. It collects no passwords, no payment information, no precise location, and no information directed at children.
Information stored on your device
CathCal stores a small amount of data in your own browser using local storage: display preferences (such as dark mode and the English/Latin toggle), calendar-subscription details, and notification settings. This data stays in your browser. It is never transmitted to the operator's servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings, or through the 'Clear my data' control in Settings.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, your browser asks your permission first. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. CathCal does not collect push tokens, and no notification data is sent to or stored by the operator.
Calendar subscription
Subscribing to the calendar feed happens inside your own calendar application. The operator receives no list of subscribers and no personal data from subscriptions. The server may record routine access logs for feed requests (such as IP address, date, time, and user agent) for security and operation; these are kept briefly and then deleted or aggregated.
Contact form
If you write through the contact form, CathCal collects your name, email address, and message solely to forward your enquiry to the site owner and to reply. Messages are not published, not used for marketing, and not added to any list. They are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and are deleted on request. The owner's email address is never displayed.
Third parties
The hosting provider and the email-forwarding service process data on the operator's behalf in order to run the site. Personal data is not sold and not shared for advertising. The site uses no advertising trackers.
Security
Reasonable measures protect the systems that handle contact messages, but no transmission over the internet is perfectly secure.
Children's privacy
CathCal is a general devotional resource and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data CathCal holds about you by writing through the contact form.
